Here is a peek inside what a typical day looks like. Most days we are able to stick to a routine, but there are days that don’t go as planned. On those days we might need to shuffle things around or skip them altogether, the children’s needs and moods come first!
ARRIVAL: We meet each family outside on the front porch at their scheduled time of arrival. If your child will be late please be sure to let us know ASAP. Parents must sign their child in and complete our daily health screening using our Brightwheel App.
FREE PLAY: Free Play is an indoor/outdoor, unstructured, voluntary, child-initiated activity that allows children to develop their imaginations while exploring and experiencing the world around them. As a play based daycare and preschool we engage in free play often throughout the day.
BREAKFAST: We know the struggle of trying to get kids to eat while your trying to rush out the door to get to work. We will provide your children with a light breakfast each morning if they didnt eat at home. If your child arrives after 8:30, you will need to provide them breakfast at home. If your child has food allergies then you must supply all their food for the day.
CIRCLE TIME: We gather together as a group for learning activities. We practice our ABC’s and 123’s. We sing other songs that we are learning and talk about the days activities. Most days circle time also includes a story related to our group activity. This is also a good time for the kids to share things that they are excited about.
GROUP ACTIVITY: Every day we have group activities of some kind. These activities may include but are not limited to arts and crafts; STEM activities; ELA, science and/or math activities; games; dramatic play; assorted fine motor skill activities (Puzzles, Blocks, Sensory Play, Lacing, Magnets, Etc.); and/or outside play. Check out our interactive activity calendars at the link above to see what we have planned each day.
MUSIC & MOVEMENT: (3 days per week) This is an inside or outside activity, weather permitting. We’re working on those gross motor skills and getting them moving! We sing songs with big movements like The Hokey Pokey, If You’re Happy and You Know It, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, Etc. We play games like Simon Says or I Spy. Sometimes we play with the big parachute, or other fun props that we have. We also use other fun programs like GoNoodle, The Learning Station, and Jack Hartman.

LUNCH: Lunch is provided by parents and must be packed in a lunch box/bag with your child’s first and last name on it. Please pack ready to serve foods. We do not heat, prep or cook any foods. This is a very social part of our day. We encourage table manners and social etiquette.
NAP TIME: Children sleep on cots. Blankets will be provided when needed. Most of the children in our care nap for 1.5 – 2 hours. If they don’t sleep, that’s ok too. The quiet time is necessary for them to reset their bodies and prepare for the afternoon activities. We will not prevent children from napping and we will not wake children up. **When we have infants in attendance, this is also when we do tummy time. Please try to schedule early pick ups before or after naptime.
STORY TIME & A SNACK: After everyone is awake, we gather around the table for snack time. While the kids are eating their snack, we often read a story or play music.

DISMISSAL: 15 minutes before your scheduled pick up time we get them ready to go home. This means all the toys get picked up and each childs belongings are gathered and children are prepared to go home. As parents arrive we walk your child out to the front porch. Children should be signed out using our Brightwheel App.
